What Shaped Coding Bull
Coding Bull didn’t start with a big name or a long list of clients. It started with a few business owners who took a chance on a university student, and his determination not to let them down.
More than a decade ago, in 2015, Justin, our founder, was in his last two years of university and struggling to pay his bills. So he emailed business owners he’d never met and asked if they needed help with their websites. Most said no. He was new and didn’t even have a reference they could call.
But a few said yes. All Painting was one of the first, and stayed with Coding Bull from 2015 until its owner retired. Image Optometry was another. They had 14 locations across Vancouver and were the eye doctors for the Vancouver Canucks, and their owner still bet on a university student with no track record. Justin still can’t put into words how much that meant to him. Image Optometry worked with Coding Bull for six years, until they sold to Specsavers in 2021.
When someone trusts you like that, you don’t let them down. They first agreed on beautiful websites, but after launch, some didn’t bring in the business the owners had hoped for. So Justin listened and kept improving them, often without charging. They had taken a chance on him, and he wasn’t going to fail them or leave them hanging.
That’s where his work ethic comes from, and it’s still how we work today. It’s why every website and marketing service we offer is risk-free: you pay in full only when the work hits the target we agreed. It’s also why we never promise anything lightly.
